Because of the nature of the upload of data into the database and the need to avoid errors in capturing the data we are now only accepting data that has been captured in the special 5MHzLog program, developed by Alan, G0TLK. This program is the preferred way of creating a file for electronic submission of logs for inclusion in the 5MHz database, because it reduces the errors in QTH Locators being entered and eliminates all possibilities of data not being in the correct format. But, it is also is easier and quicker for you to use and has an option of creating a file that you can use to upload the log data into most station logging programs. For more information on the program and its free download, please click here. For support on this program you can join the 5MHzLog yahoo group, at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/5MHzLog. This group has been specifically created for discussion, reporting of bugs, sharing help, etc, about the program. The csv files, created by the 5MHzLog program can be e-mailed to 5MHz_Working_Group@rsgb.org.uk. The e-mail “Subject” field should be marked "5MHz Activity Log, callsign/SWL number". Finally, for those without access to a computer or
Internet, with the help of people willing to key in logs, we are able to accept handwritten logs
on paper, using the Station Logging Form downloadable in Adobe's
Acrobat pdf format (see http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
for free Acrobat reader). This is intended for those who don't
have access to a computer - for those who do have access to a computer we
really do ask that they submit their logs in electronic form wherever
possible as using volunteer effort to key in logs means that that volunteer
effort is diverted from other work relating to the experiment. Paper
logs should be
mailed to RSGB HQ, with the envelope marked “5WG Station Log”. |
